What Does the Triple Jump Do?

The Sword of the Sea triple jump triggers a water rail in Sacred River, letting you extend your aerial route. It’s a useful connection to learn for reaching elevated paths and earning the Water Rider trophy. Practice near the jellyfish at the beginning of the area, where you can bounce back into the air between rails.

Water rails become available in Sacred River, the sixth level. Once you’re airborne, triple jump to trigger a rail, then use it to continue your route or jump off toward another landing point.

Build momentum before attempting a longer crossing. The Hoversword gains speed as you ride, and wave crests, ramps, and halfpipes provide opportunities to launch into the air. Line up your destination before takeoff so you can focus on the next part of the route.

How to Earn Water Rider

Water Rider requires using water rails 4 times without touching the ground. The jellyfish near the start of Sacred River give you a repeatable way to connect those rides.

  1. Bounce on a jellyfish near the beginning of the level.
  2. Triple jump to trigger a water rail.
  3. Immediately jump off the rail and aim back toward the jellyfish.
  4. Land on the jellyfish to bounce into the air again.
  5. Trigger another rail and repeat until the trophy unlocks.

Keep the return bounce close and manageable. You’re working toward consecutive rail uses, so prioritize reaching the jellyfish over covering extra distance. Touching the ground breaks the sequence.

For a practical exploration route, use water grinding when hunting the Poison Dart Frog in Sacred River. After activating the sphere water point on top of the boat, climb the kelp or grind the chain to the first pillar it passes through. From there, jump and water grind toward the cliff with a boat on it, following the direction of the chains.

How to Unlock Water Rails in Every Level

Collecting all 50 secret shells unlocks water rails throughout the game, expanding their use beyond Sacred River.

Sacred River contains 11 secret shells, while Veiled Sea and Shadow Tundra each contain 10. Lost Grotto has 11, Forbidden Valley and Frozen Drifts have one each, and Boiling Cavern has five.

One shell comes from the mysterious vendor. Reaching that final reward requires 8550 Tetra total across the vendor’s reward sequence. Pick up Tetra from treasure chests, fish tiles, and exploration, and beat Trick Attack high scores for additional currency.

The vendor also offers Super Jump earlier in that sequence. It costs 2000 Tetra, bringing your cumulative spending to 3550 Tetra at that point. Budget for that reward while continuing toward the final shell.

Use the collectible tracker on the chapter select screen to locate unfinished areas. The September 19, 2025 update added that tracker, along with a pause-screen collectible tracker in New Game+.

Use Momentum for Longer Jumps

A long airborne route also helps with movement trophies:

TrophyRequirement
Water RiderUse water rails 4 times without touching the ground
Long Distance JumperTravel a large distance in one jump without touching the ground

For Long Distance Jumper, head to Shadow Tundra after the cylindrical tunnel. The open mountain area introduces short posts that provide boost wisps; the blue wisps circling you indicate an available boost.

Ride uphill toward a launch platform. Build speed, use your boost, and aim down the slope toward the lower ground to give yourself a longer airborne crossing.

In New Game+, the ability to generate boost through tricks opens up more opportunities for this trophy. Choose a route with a clear downhill landing, and carry your momentum through takeoff.
