All Vendor Rewards and Tetra Costs

Sword of the Sea vendor rewards cost 8,550 Tetra across five purchases, ending with a secret shell needed to complete your collection. Along the way, you unlock Tricks, Spin Tricks, Drop, and Super Jump. Collecting enough currency matters for both your movement abilities and the Loyal Customer trophy or achievement.

The Mysterious Vendor accepts Tetra, the golden triangular currency scattered throughout the world. Here is the purchase sequence, including the cumulative amount needed to reach each reward:

RewardIndividual CostTotal Tetra Spent
Tricks5050
Spin Tricks500550
Drop1,0001,550
Super Jump2,0003,550
Secret Shell5,0008,550

The final purchase costs 5,000 Tetra by itself. Reaching 5,000 Tetra in total spending will leave you short of completing the vendor’s rewards.

Tricks unlocks basic aerial tricks and is required for progression. Spin Tricks expands your repertoire, allowing spin tricks through repeated attempts at the same trick.

The vendor appears in multiple locations as you follow the main path. Keep collecting currency between encounters; you do not need to return to an earlier vendor location every time you can afford another reward.

How to Collect More Tetra While Exploring

Several activities contribute toward the full purchase total. Combine them while moving through each area instead of relying on a single currency source.

Open Chests and Activate Fish Tiles

Treasure chests contain Tetra, with larger hidden chests offering more substantial rewards. Search side paths, elevated platforms, and spaces reached through short environmental puzzles.

Glowing fish tiles also award currency when you land on them. Look above the main route: rooftops, statues, and other high points often hold tiles. Scan the surrounding terrain from a tall platform before dropping back down.

Break Objects Along Your Route

Jars, lamps, crystals, and icebergs can provide Tetra when destroyed. Break clusters as you pass, and use the dolphin and shark sections to smash objects available during those sequences.

In Forbidden Valley, break the crystals encountered during the dolphin section. These give you another stream of currency while progressing through the level.

Complete the Four Trick Attack Areas

Trick Attack arenas reward you for reaching a target score within a time limit. The four areas are in:

The first arena requires 8,000 points; the other three require 10,000 points each. Their time limits range from 40–60 seconds, and beating each target for the first time awards a large amount of Tetra.

Alternate aerial tricks and extend your combo with wall rides, grinds, or jellyfish bounces. When using jellyfish, move between different ones: repeatedly bouncing on the same jellyfish does not increase your combo.

Collect Rewards From Restoring the World

Activate optional water points as you explore. In Sacred River, main and optional water points spawn substantial amounts of Tetra around the area.

The August 29, 2025 update also added a Tetra reward for lighting all boats. That update removed inaccessible underground chests and fixed several routes out of bounds, so focus your chest search on reachable terrain.

Where to Earn Remaining Tetra After the Story

You can finish every vendor purchase during your first playthrough with thorough collection. If you finish the story before reaching 8,550 Tetra, vendor reward progress carries into New Game+ and Chapter Select.

Chests and fish tiles become available again during chapter replays and NG+, giving you additional currency opportunities. Two chapters provide useful replay routes:

  • Chapter 5, Frozen Drifts: Activate optional water points and break crystals as you advance. A collection run through the level takes about 10 minutes.
  • Chapter 6, Sacred River: Activate main and optional water points, then collect the Tetra that appears around the area.

Use Chapter Select for targeted collection after finishing the story. If you are also pursuing New Game Plus Completed, complete that NG+ adventure without switching to Chapter Select, which resets progress for the current playthrough.

Why the Final Vendor Shell Matters

The last trade supplies one of the game’s 50 secret shells. The other 49 are scattered across the seven collectible-bearing chapters, so finding every shell in the environments still leaves the vendor purchase to complete.

Receiving all five vendor rewards fulfills Loyal Customer. Collecting all 50 shells fulfills Water Whisperer and unlocks the ability to use water rails in any level, extending that movement option beyond Sacred River.

For shell cleanup, use the collectible tracker added to Chapter Select in the September 19, 2025 update. NG+ also has a collectible tracker on the pause screen.

Keep these purchases separate from the Speedometer and Trick Display: both are awarded at the start of New Game+ and require no vendor spending.
